Inspired by the Telstra “Spectrum” branding, we developed a unique “low-poly” design language for the campaign. Starting from hand-illustrated designs, we sculpted our final forms in 3D, with organically placed edges and divisions to create a family of simple, highly-stylised objects.
The stories in this campaign are driven by candid, off-the-cuff, and highly-relatable narrations. Our visuals were designed to help reflect this style of storytelling, with tactile, physical-feeling visuals seamlessly flowing and building from one metaphor to the next, as the narrator tells their story.
We created a system for breaking these objects down in animation, allowing us to build and transform objects with a tactile charm. This simplified low-poly aesthetic was combined with realistic creature animation and observed physical effects, to add a balance of complexity and sophistication.
