Nice Internships & Work Experience

Fostering young talent is important to us at Mighty Nice. We often offer paid internships for recent college graduates or even those still studying. These are assessed on a case-by case-basis. High school students can apply for work experience, but it is dependent on our workload, and your exceptional creative flair demonstrated through a portfolio or reel.

Current positions:

Head of Studio/3D IMMEDIATE START

Building on a period of solid growth, we are now seeking a Head of Studio to manage the technical operations of Mighty Nice as we enter the next, exciting stage of our studio’s development.

To be considered for this role you must demonstrate:
– Previous responsibility for planning overall production pipeline and technical approaches, as well as quality control
– This is a leadership position and as such you will be expected to initiate and support improvements to studio processes and play a strong role in the culture of Mighty Nice
– Core competency with Motions Graphics and After Effects AND master of Maya 3D pipeline
– Effectively identify, develop, plan and direct the production and technical pipeline of the Mighty Nice studio
– Collaborate with Head of Production, Executive Creative Director and/or Producers to assist in the budgeting, scheduling and effective and efficient resourcing of pitches and projects
– Manage external technical and IT in house staff/consultants
– Plan technology path to improve quality of work
– Hands on lighting, rendering and compositing on selected projects when required

Senior 3D Artist IMMEDIATE START

If, like us, you’re passionate about craft based storytelling that is executed with a mix of technology, imagination and attention to detail – then we’d love to hear from you.

To be considered for this role you must demonstrate:
– Previous experience as a Senior 3D Artist, in particular working to assist the Head of Studio in the technical operations of projects
– Taking a lead role on the creation of characters, commercials and at times long form projects
– Assist in maintaining the 3D production pipeline as well as core competency with Maya, redshift and VRay
– Hands on rigging, lighting, rendering and compositing
– Accurately decipher the requirements of projects and deliver effective, innovative and creative technical solutions
– Must possess exceptional knowledge of software and technical production techniques to ensure projects are run in an efficient and effective manner
– At times have input into production timelines and deadlines

Motion Graphics IMMEDIATE START

If, like us, you’re passionate about craft based storytelling that is executed with a mix of technology, imagination and attention to detail – then we’d love to hear from you.

To be considered for this role you must demonstrate your ability to:
– Take responsibility for pitch concept development, Design, Animation, and Creative leadership and direction
– Create and produce motion graphics, illustrations and animations using After Effects and other Adobe products
– Create and produce static graphics including KVs, visual treatments using Photoshop and Illustrator
– Collaborate with creative, design and Post Production teams to help develop creative and design responses for briefs and projects
– Basic VFX on shots including keying and touch up
– Equally comfortable with character and design based animation
– At times have input into production timelines and deadlines

Junior to Mid-level 2D Animator IMMEDIATE START

Fostering young talent is important to us at Mighty Nice and we’re currently on the look out for a Junior 2D Animator. 

To be considered for this role you must demonstrate:
– Comprehensive knowledge of the Adobe suite as well knowledge of TVPaint and Toon Boon Harmony is a plus
– Ability to storyboard, animate and design with the drive to constantly improve and evolve these skills
– Ability to take on board feedback and support the vision of the Mighty Nice directors and, importantly, be motivated and able to work independently where required
– Flexibility of design skills
– Good knowledge of existing artists, illustrators and animators for reference and collaboration
