The power of coffee

for  Eight O’Clock Coffee
and  Spark44

A coffee in the morning is to many a necessity, but also a nice ritual. A bit of “me” time. A little pause and catch-up between partners. The sun is rising and the light is kissing the edges of trees and colouring the sides of buildings.

warm feelings associated
with memories

Beautiful lighting effects can trigger those dreamy warm feelings associated with friendship and memories. We love this look and feeling created by building images from light. There is a beauty and quality to be found in frame by frame traditional animation.

Eight O’Clock is well established in the American coffee market. It is a trusted brand that is “straight talking”– with the packaging and design both minimal and elegant. The red, gold, black and white form a strong branding palette that we expanded for the campaign.

We created smooth, flowing digital drawings that are immediately engaging, taking the viewer on a journey as we transition cleverly from scene to scene.

Classic and
modern style

Mighty Nice are excited to showcase their classic modern design style for the Eight O’Clock animated TVCs and social campaigns.
Although we used strong traditional draftsmanship, the planning of the animation utilised a mix of 3D animation and computer trickery to create motion that is more sophisticated than what an animator can easily draw.

In the colouring process, we used slightly roughened pencil lines and added texture and soft gradients to any block colour. For compositing, we created volumetric shards of light, and added tiny particles of dust in the air to add some love to that morning light and warm up the scenes.

and the most decent human beings you’ll probably ever meet…
